Clearly you all aren't famous because none of you understand what she has had to go though and many other artists do. okay but she’s walking into a dessert place. obviously they’re going to have other options for people who want to lose weight in a healthy way, etc. i’m a woman who had disordered eating and i don’t see it as an attack on me at all. the world doesn’t always bend to what triggers you. i find certain food settings etc that for a “normal” person aren’t upsetting but it’s upsetting for me. so i avoid those places. HEARTSTOP 3,137
She always has something problematic to say, or something unproblematic to say in a problematic way, thinking that she is the one on the high horse. I wouldn't attack her for this, just like I wouldn't attack other stupid people just because they're stupid. But I also wouldn't defend her stupidity either. People defending her dumb remarks should realize that having a good voice/songs, or going through some kind of trauma, really doesn't have anything to do with being right, or having excuses to say dumb stuff. You can be very talented and still be dumb or a bad person (I don't think she is a bad person). Just look at Azealia Banks. IDGAF
MonsterofFame 1,785
Every time Demi improves her public image, she does something stupid and nasty like this. And this is why I will never be a fan or stan for her.

After reading responses to my comment i see that i didn't describe it well. Healed my heart made a comment which was what i intended my comment to sound like. Of course this was before your next post which was about the shops response. This changes the whole situation completely and the blame is on Demi now. My original intention was to defend Demi as she wasn't there when everyone in the comments was attacking her. I didn't do my research into the shop at all and that was a huge mistake. Because she's making an issue about a shop that sells sugar free products, as if that these products were only related to diet culture (which is something that triggers her since she's dealing with an eating disorder herself). The thing is that many people can't simply eat sugar, and many stores have sugar free options. The problem is that Demi chose to ignore that fact before saying what's in her mind. And that comes as a narcissistic thing. Sure, she has her struggle, but it doesn't mean other people don't.

No one should be imposed to do so. But to bring this “movement” to a bakery shop whose offering healthier alternatives to their common products (which are sweets) is NOT okay. Regardless of the reply of the shop. This is the case where you are barking on the wrong tree. They sell sweets and they have alternatives for them, it’s a common and simple business tactic wherein an entrepreneur expand their product range. I don’t see the NEED to call them out or to bash them. Demi’s intention is correct regarding the diet culture but it is MISPLACED in this occasion. StrawberryBlond 14,872
Demi has had so many issues brought on by her eating disorder. She said in her documentary that she once had to call one of her confidantes to talk with her for ages during the night because she ate a cookie and was freaking out. It's a very well-documented problem she has. This isn't her being messy or overly offended, this is an eating disorder talking. I do think she maybe needs a new angle on it however as whatever she's doing clearly isn't working if she's still reacting so strongly. If she can't even see why there are valid reasons to have sugar free treats that are nothing to do with dieting, her problems need to be managed better. But it's a shame that so many people don't realise this and laugh at her.
PEZ 6,227
I can understand why she felt triggered because I have an eating disorder too, but I think she's doing too much over this At the very least I wish she'd be a bit more clear about what "do better" actually looks like, in her mind -- that would be more constructive and help others see what she's seeing instead of just seeming like she's looking for something or someone to lash out at. (I'm assuming she wants certain items moved but they still need to be displayed somewhere, for the target customers to easily find...) That said, I hope she can feel more comfortable in the future ordering at places and I'm glad she was able to order something for herself that day. ⚡🐲
