has anyone ever noticed that in Edge of Glory gaga sometimes has a bit of an odd quality like her vocals were transposed up from where it was originally recorded? almost reminds me a bit of the chipmunks though obviously it was probably only a semitone or two if it really happened

I hear what you're talking about. I always noticed it but didn't realise what it was. It sounds like her vocals been sped/chopped up or something in places.

I think what you mean can be heard very clearly in this filter

She has done the same or a similar thing in the pre-chorus of ARTPOP, but no one has filtered that yet, but I KNOW it's there and it's driving me crazy that other people can't hear it :messga:

yeah you can hear it here too, transposing the backing vocals makes the whole thing feel like it goes even higher than it does

Nope, but god do I love the way she sings the pre-chorus :nooo:

If you use headphones you can hear very high notes, especially at the "these things", "bricks and strings", "my ARTPOP could" parts.

There's also some in the chorus, most prominently in the "ARTPOP, ARTPOP, ARTPAHAHAHAHWP" part... please tell me you hear them and I'm not crazy :bradley:
Also in that part I feel like there is a male voice, maybe it's just her altered vocals, but it doesn't really sound like her.

Why can't the multitrack stems just leak :messga:

She also did it on the 2nd verse/bridge of Alice, as can be heard in the first 14 seconds of this:

I've never noticed this on the original album version but it's interesting that on the other hand on Enigma she transposed the song down

Are you talking about the voice in the background of the “we could belong together” part that sounds like a male? I think it’s just her using her Bad Romance voice

Oh gotcha yeah I can hear all of those you mentioned, I can actually hear the Alice one clearly when I play it through my phone speakers too. I really want more vocal multitracks to leak in the future!

Nope, it's also during the "ARTPOP, ARTPOP, ARTPAHAHAHAWP" part and it sounds almost like a choir.

Actually, just did a bit of research and there are 3 background singers credited on ARTPOP.
Nicole Ganther, Natalie Ganther and Lyon Gray.
They are also credited on Jewels 'N Drugs as well as Swine and their vocal layers are in the Swine multitracks.

I think they mean Enigma the show. She performed it in a different key?

god I love ARTPOP so much I'm so glad we are potentially getting ACT II. Is there a full version of this? I wish the demo studio version would leak. There was snippet floating around!

Listening to all the snippets here I suppose it was done to extend the range for harmonies. Gaga has a rather deep and powerful voice (other than for example Ari who can reach extremely high notes), and I think they do it to give the harmonies more diversity in terms of range. But that is me just guessing  .

Ew, David!
