I started with FireRed, and my current team consists of Charmeleon, Dugtrio, Nidoking, Pidgeotto, Gloom and Meowth. Do you all think this is a good team, or should I catch some more Pokemon and train them up? I've just beaten Lt. Surge, so that's where I am in the game. i think you should get a water type. Kanto is about Genetics The starters of this regions are all reptiles and based on some dinosaur elements. Eevee can evolve into multiple mons due to unstable DNA, Kanto also introduced the most fossils throughout all regions. Ditto mimics every structure of each mons. The infamous Mewtwo was artificially made through Genetic Engineering. Johto is about Traditions Ecruteak City and Violet City's constructions are older than any cities in the region. Kimono Girls' are holding an ancient dancing tradition. The story behind the Burned Tower. Hoenn is about Nature Team Aqua/Magma is somewhat involved in this prior to their goal on expanding the sea/land. Fortree City was built on trees and Pacifidlog was built on rafts above sea. Zangoose and Seviper represents the rivalry of a mongoose and a snake. The regional starters' symbolizes it's nature; Treecko is a gecko which only lives on trees; Torchic, like in the real world, a chick needs warmth in order to hatch; Mudkip is based on a fish which only thrives on water. Sinnoh is about History The region is connected to myths, legends, and changes. The starters' final forms are a reference to mythological creatures. Drifloon and Drifblim's legend, according to an old folklore, says that they take people to the underworld. Arceus is the creator of the universe as well as the rulers of time, space, and anti-matter. Celestic Town still preserves it's own history. The Solaceon Ruins are as old as the Ruins of Alph in Johto. As for changes, Floaroma Town was said to be a wasteland long ago, but then Shaymin transformed it into a beautiful field of flowers. Unova is about Opposites One obvious reference are the mascots, Zekrom and Reshiram which represents the Yin And Yang, black and white. Black City/White Forest is an example of Nature and Industry as well as the Muskateers' goal of preventing the loss of pokemons' natural habitat to human industry. Team Plasma's scheme of separating pokemons from humans is another example. The hero's battle against N/Ghetsis between Good and Bad. The Dream World also fits in the theme, as it's purpose is to combine Dreams and Reality Kalos is about Mortality (speculation) When I hear the word Mortality, what comes to my mind are life and death. The Life pokemon, Xerneas, preserves lives, not just humans and pokemons, but also it's surroundings, like the floras and fauna which are considered as alive creatures. Maybe it's one of the reasons why he's in a forest. Apparently, I can't say much about Yveltal. Yeah, he is the Destruction Pokemon, but the question is why did GF decided to place him above? (death from above tbh) Putting that all aside, the next reference is Team Flare. Their goal is to gather money. At first, it might sound cheaper that the previous villains' goals, but the scary fact is that people would do anything for money even if it involves destroying something, like life for example. Including glitched ones like Missingno and any that have officially been released for X and Y.
