It's been one of those things that have been bugging me for a while. Society feels like once you get to a certain age you MUST stop liking certain things and I don't get why. If you enjoy it and it's not hurting anyone, especially something as harmless as a video game, I don't get what the big deal is. And that goes for a lot of things.

Normally I don't really say this, but my friend -- F**k people.

Your video games are your business. NO ONE here will ever give you crap about it. Society in this case is dead wrong.

Someday, when you have a little girl or a little boy, they will want to play this too, and you can play with them. I don't know when or if I will have a child, but when I do, I will give them an awesome childhood.

The two things of my childhood I would definitely want a kid of mine to know about and try is Gaga and Pokemon.

Honestly what better childhood could you ask for?

Download, emulator? Like on the computer? I would hate to play the game with computer keys, ugh. I do have a gameboy advance sp though. But I wouldn't be able to afford anything now unless the games are like $5.

I know, I can't believe I haven't played any.  :flop:

Yes you play them on the computer.

Most games I agree with you, I wouldn't want to play them on the computer.

But Pokemon's feel on the computer is actually quite the same. On the map screens you only move using up down left and right, which is the same as the d-pad on the gameboys, and click using a. And during battle you just navigate option menus, which is the same. No real quick movements required, it's quite enjoyable.

The advantages are obviously, it's free, and it's available right now. Honestly you could play and beat Pokemon red blue or yellow before X and Y comes out if you wanted to :)

I never get any backlash and I don't hide that I like Pokemon. I get complimented on my backpack Pokemon clips things and my Pokemon shirts all the time. I don't know if it has to do with where we live. I think it's cool being a grown up kid! I wouldn't have it any other way!

Gais! I am literally freaking out that by the time my next pay check comes, the day after X & Y come out!  :zilla: What is this!? I can't deal! :messga:

Oh okay then. If the controls are like that then playing it on the computer sounds fine. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll look into an emulator later today.

I've never been part of the hype for a new Pokémon game, so don't know how these things work...

But, do Nintendo usually show off all the new Pokémon before the game comes out? Or, will they only be announced from the 12th onwards?

Idk tbh because usually Japan gets the new games way before anyone else so we already have all the new info before it comes out here. This is the first Pokemon game that they are releasing simultaneously around the world
