Calm down. They didn't "drop the ball" or "**** this up". They are actually way ahead of schedule on the vaccine rollout. It only looks bad because the US has been doing a spectacular job for once.

yeah, they are spacing out the doses here, with the idea that it's better that more people get at least some immunity than a smaller group get fully immunized. For example I got my first shot last week and I don't get my second dose until July 24th 

There was a lot of news earlier about how Canada has bought sooo much vaccine, and yeah we have secured a lot of contracts, but the actual shipments have been very slow. Our main problem is that we have NO domestic manufacturing facilities and rely exclusively on shipments from other countries. I can only hope our government is learning something from this. 

But it spacing out the doses a good idea? Wouldn't it stop being as effective? @SwissMonster do you have any idea?

It's fine just look at UK as a case study. They say one dose is giving upto about 85 percent immunity in real world data. Cases and deaths here have dropped through the floor with 6m full vaccinated and 32m partially vaccinated.

It's so embarrassing. The vaccine rollout is a mess and people are already acting like the pandemic is over. They just don't care anymore. I feel like everyone is thinking "Listen, we've stayed home and made sacrifices for a year, leave us alone". At least in my area it's not so bad, but I'm expecting we'll be back on lockdown soon.

But theres booster vaccines like hepatitus that are as much as 6 months apart...

 

Given immunity for covid19 appears to last a little longer than first thought, theres no reason to believe the 21 days the trials were done in is critical and cant be extended

Well, in the prairies, they aren’t using Pfizer on anyone over 54 because apparently they’re saving the AZ we got from the states for that age group. My bfs parents won’t get that one lol (my parents did) but that’s the only one available to them right now.
