Uber Chock drivers, I want my food back

These companies sucks, they don't evaluate well the people who works there, I've had so many problems with their drivers in the past.

It's actually better to just take a taxi and pay a little bit more..

Well if these contractors legally get employee status, the company also legally gets to make demands a company can make employees. Its a 2 way street

 

Lyft and uber dont tell u what ur shifts are, how many hours u have to work, when u can book vacation, or to give 2 week notice of quitting etc. U can sign up and do it when u feel like

 

The casual contract is what allows such flexibility

 

If ppl want a traditional employee style relationship they better be prepared that the company will be able to make a lot more traditional demands and a lot of the flexibility that now exists will be gone

 

U cant demand employee status benefits but then expect not to have employee status obligations at the same time

This is largely why i always pick up now. Not only is it cheaper but i got tired of missing items or wrong orders. 

 

At least when u pick up if they screwed something up u can tell them on the spot to fix it

yeah same, husband is going by car, all ghostbusters mode, and brings the food.

sometimes there is a delivery service of the restaurant so if something is wrong, they go back and brings it, we always deliver in a 5 minutes range so if things like that happens, it won't be take too long.

in chicago i know it's nearly impossible to get an uber sometimes because of the rise of carjackings. possibly getting shot and your car stolen not worth a mediocre wage, and that's not even considering the covid risk and the anti masker passengers

Literally everytime I order an Uber now it takes like 20 minutes to find a driver when it used to take 2 minutes & id be picked up. I’ve been wondering what was going on for like a month now.

considering these uber type businesses are businesses almost anyone can join unconditionally provided u have a license and decent car, and you can work whatever hours you please and stop when you please and its all by choice at your will i find ppl rather demanding with these businesses

 

Some of these calls ppl are mamong to make drivers like regular type employees, if that were to come into law they could just as easily say a company doesnt have to give workers this much flexibility in hours or in who gets hired and start to make more demands back at the ppl working for them

 

I think as long as these are gigs that are as flexible as they are and ppl join by choice at will it sounds a little entitled to me to get apalled if they take away bonuses they never had to offer to begin with in the first place

Entitled? Ok after expenses most drivers end up taking home about $9 and hour.

Most of these drivers make about $9 dollars an hour or less with the exception of those living in big cities like NY. It isn't entitled to want a livable wage from a billion dollar corporation.
