Chris Hemsworth says his body is why he's not seen as a 'serious actor'

Chris Hemsworth is offering up a theory about why he may not be labeled a “serious actor” by some in Hollywood. The 37-year-old HUNK spoke about maintaining his physique to play Thor in the Marvel movies, and the topic of serious actors came up.

“There’s an aesthetic that the role requires,” Chris told The Telegraph. “Bodybuilding is seen as vanity, whereas if I put on a bunch of unhealthy weight, or got unhealthily skinny for a role, I’d probably be called a serious actor.”

“The training across 10 years of doing it is a full-time job. That and then a 12-hour shooting day — it’s a real grind,” he added. “It’s incredibly rewarding, too — you have to look at it like a professional athlete.”

It’s that and that he’s considered *so* hot he is typecast. He just needs to kill it in one or two serious roles and he’d be fine. Bradley Cooper was a relative nobody B-lister before he started getting more strategic roles

Honestly he should ditch acting and get into bodybuilding. He’d do great in shows and he’s already greatly respected in the bodybuilding community.

It’s not his body, if he wanted to be taken seriously as an actor he shouldn’t have joined the MCU. I’m sure he can cry himself to sleep on his bed made of 100 dollar bills.
