I'm also aware that wind speed is different at different heights. I've certainly never been there, but they would be using balloons to do the measurements they are being paid to do there. But I hope you are also aware that no matter what speed is the wind lol, planes can not come close to them at all. One moment they are in front of the plane, the next they are from behind.
