CDC: Pfizer and Moderna vaccines 90% effective in real life study

I envy some of you guys! You’ll all be getting vaccinated soon or have already been inoculated against the virus. Here in Poland, on the other hand, the way at which this whole vaccination rollout is going is nothing but abysmal, to say the least. I’m 27 and, according to some calculations based on the speed of the aforementioned rollout in Poland, all I can say is that I’ll be lucky if I get vaccinated in 2022. I’d really like to get these two doses of Pfizer because that’s the one Joe Biden got, and if they administer it to the most important person in the world, you know it’s good, safe and effective. And sorry to say this but I don’t trust any other vaccines other than the American ones. The Russian and the Chinese ones are yet to be approved by the WHO but at the same time I understand the severity and the urgency of the pandemic and we should get as many people vaccinated as possible and as soon as possible and we can’t just pick and choose. 
But if I were to choose, I’d opt for either Pfizer or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which only requires one single dose.

The covid death rate is 1.3% of confirmed cases in my state. Early last year, it was almost 3%, if I remember correctly. The vaccine and the use of effective treatments has prevented many deaths. The monoclonal antibody treatment is similar in action to a vaccine.

The goal is to get herd immunity and get to it quickly. When a person gets the virus, it can mutate into a different strain that could be more deadly and could defeat the existing vaccines. We (global we) want no-one to get the virus so that it cannot mutate into something that defeats our current drugs and vaccines. 

The way people have violated mask and distancing measures already means that we will not be stopping covid anytime soon. Zero cases will be impossible with all the anti-vaxers. So covid will mutate and continue to be a forever problem.

An aquantence of mine just got out of the hospital after a month including the whole icu intubation ventilator scenario. It's still a very dangerous virus to some people in 2021.

It’s not just about the death rate  It’s about not spreading to others and not spreading/suffering from the nasty side effects, etc. We already have seen long term issues with COVID including respiratory issues, heart failure, and brain damage. I’m sure you wouldn’t want any of these, or any of your loved ones to suffer from these. The possibility of side effects (life long ones) are at a much higher percentage.

Forget the survival rate. You can "survive" and still be damaged for life. Seriously. You don't want this disease.

I got my second Pfizer shot yesterday. I feel awful...like I have the flu and have been running a fever. If this is even half of what Covid feels like I'm so thankful for this vaccine.
