It's a cross-promotional marketing opportunity that's just too big to pass up. Kinda like Lana's Young & Beautiful for The Great Gatsby, Lorde & TSwift for the Hunger Games, Celine Dion for Titanic, even Pharell's Happy for Despicable Me (lol). Sometimes producers like to tie a big song to a big movie, even if the move is not a musical like ASIB. Seems like maybe she'll play part of a classical piece or something rather than singing, that seems more fitting with the film? The piano is gorgeous and it's Gaga so whatever it is it'll be amazing. That potentially makes more sense as I figure this movie is very much an acting movie for Gaga - I can't see her doing songs or music for every film she does. But I guess we'll see in November. I think playing Patrizia is her chance to disassociate her image from the music and to really show off her acting ability - to transform herself into someone not easily relatable. Not to be a Debby downer but adding a single or an OST to this film would be so unnecessary. Even if it was for promotional purposes, it already has some of the biggest names in acting and a compelling story there is such a thing as over gilding the lily. Not the bore worms!
