(I'm not making this up) And so now that she is proud of liking roses, she has expanded her mind to include interest in things that are the same color as the rose. So she saw a RED fridge and it immediately triggered a memory that she likes roses and has now identified with this fridge. Or maybe - and I don't think it's this deep - maybe she liked red first and THAT'S why the rose is her favorite flower, but I don't think so.
