Masks, distancing 'could last years'

I am pro mask pro everything and I get we are all different but I just can’t wrap my head around the fact that some of you are ‘happy’ with this. I mean I’m glad that you haven’t had allergies or that people don’t hug you if u don’t want to...BUT is it really comparable with the life we used to have? For me it just isn’t.

I am going to be healthy and safe by being careful right now but I can’t wait to be at parties with all my friends, to go to concert, to hug and kiss all my friends (Which WILL happen sooner than later)

no shade..just reflecting on how much different we all are

I hope it becomes permanent!

Wearing masks should be the norm especially when you’re sick

Some people don’t know the meaning of “personal space”

U must be crazy 🤢

What you described is every other disease. The flu vaccine is less effective but can prevent death and hospitalization yet our society is functioning...

Oh okay, I guess then the cases would decrease with time as vaccination increases

If ur afraid of getting sick don't leave your home , stay there with a mask on your face if you want, don't meet people...no one cares

Wearing a mask and shades in public gives me that level of anonymity I've been craving. My biggest anxiety trigger is bumping into people unexpectedly, it shuts me down. The mask combined with shades makes me incognito and I love it.

For a pandemic to stop, the spread has to decrease, shoudln't just be decrease of severe illness, because then we'd still have a lot of cases but less deaths but it would still be a mess. So I dont understand how a vaccine that only lowers fatality can make the pandemic go away. It can open things up, but everone would still have a mask, because you could still spread the virus

Same reason we don’t wear mask to stop the spread of colds or flu...personally I like wearing a mask, but ending the pandemic is ending the SEVERE threat. Not eradicating It

Lowkey fine with this. I haven’t gotten sick all year thanks to masks

I literally haven't been ill since 2019. The odd sniffle & sneeze here and there but nothing that lasts longer than a day.

I wish they would stop telling the public that 'This will last yeaaaaars', it sounds exaggerated and all it does is make people lose hope and give up on any measures at all.

Reminds me of how it was supposed to be years until a vaccine was available.

Do you feel him sir?

Damn my opinion must of really struck a nerve with you sis :billie:

let me clarify my previous statement by saying I do want things to come back to normal.

I do believe in the future when we don’t have to wear masks anymore if you are sick and in public you should wear a mask, Asian countries have been doing it for ages out of respect of the people around them.

obviously social distancing can be annoying especially hanging out with friends but I’ve also seen social distancing as making things more organized especially waiting in lines and other things. It’s not something that needs to stay forever but definitely should still be used in certain cautionary situations.

I am pro lockdown and pro masks/social distancing as well, because there was no other option...

The thing is right now we still have to have that lockdown, because numbers are rising again with the variants, but what's driving me insane is that all those little shops, restaurants, hotels, cafès etc. have been closed for months now and they can't survive much longer...  our government forbids them to reopen, but they actually do allow people to fly to Spain for holidays and when they return they don't have to take a test or quarantine... like wtf is wrong with our country?!

We have vaccinated 3,9% of the population... our government is an embarassment! I don't even know what to say... they have invented the vaccine here, but our government hasn't ordered enough or in time... so we don't have enough vaccine... and then there is our bureaucracy which is always in the way. I can tell ya, this is what prevents us from vaccinating. This is so typical german. If it weren't that serious I could laugh about it.

Which country you live in?

Same, I understand that for some introverts, the current situation may actually have some "perks", but it's such a high toll for a majority of the population. So many of my friends are telling me how they feel like they have no reason to wake up in the morning anymore.

We should all keep up with the measures while the crisis lasts of course, but DAMN I'm just craving something to look forward to so bad, anything, a date, a party, a concert, a day at the beach, ANYTHING. I wish there was just a glimmer of hope somewhere in the distance. Sadly that's all it is it seems, a wish.

Perfect Celebrity

Once I receive my second dose of the vaccine, and by the summer when everyone is able to get it, I’m no longer wearing masks in places I don’t have to, or social distancing. I need to return to normalcy, it’s taken such a toll on my mental health over the last year and I have to be able to bring myself out of it. I need the social interaction of talking to and bumping into strangers at a show or club.

I am already sick of social distancing and wearing masks. I refuse to keep doing it for years, and I'm sure many people feel the same.

Same. It’s too annoying.
