USA Also Benefits From AstraZeneca Loan

The loan the US has agreed to give Canada and Mexico of Astrazeneca is fully beneficial all 3 way

 

It helps Canada and Mexico get more doses they can use now. Canada and Mexico have no been able to vaccinate as high a percentage of the population as the US

 

Interestingly this also benefits the US so for critics that say USA is giving away shots it could use on its own population it turns out thats not the case

 

Because these vaccines have a short shelf life and expire and US process to approve Astra-Zeneca is not complete many doses could go to waste. Instead Canada and Mexico can use some now that the US cant use yet and they wont spoil while because Canada and Mexico have to give those doses back later when it is approved in the US they will get back doses that werent expired

 

This is a rare 3-way win situation

I always assumed Biden would only give away around the surplus supply. Producing the vaccines is easy enough but having trained staff to distribute and administer them where they’re needed  is not so straightforward.

But thats not even the main issue in this case its not the logistics. This vaccine just isnt approved in the US yet and they have an expiry date

 

So this lets Canada and Mexico use it now instead of spoiling and then the US gets it back when it can actually use them
