reysus 1,064 Posted March 16, 2021 Share Posted March 16, 2021 If I was older or had more health concerns tbh I might avoid it in favor of the others, but as a healthy person i'm not worried. but at the same time the threat of covid is so much greater than blood clotting from the vaccine so eh would probably still take it without worry. Let's just say, in the beginning I was thinking this might be just another fearmongering campaign amongst many. But right now, with reports of incidents going through the roof, and no real way to verify them, I don't know if I would take the AstraZeneca vaccine right now. Some former colleagues of mine got the Astra, and the entire vaccinated staff was sick for many days, so the numbers of people reacting with fever to the AstraZeneca vaccine seems to be much higher in my area. On the other hand, one of my current colleagues who also got the BioNtech/Pfizer like I did, had facial palsy for a whole day, which is of course one of the possible side effects, but it really did scare her. She is fine now, and I personally didn't have any side efffects at all. In the end, all I know is, getting vaccinated is the right choice, but I wouldn't judge you, if you chose to not take the AstraZeneca vaccine. One second I'm a troll, then suddenly the troll is me. Can happen with any vaccine. After my wife got her 1st Pfizer dose she had severe reactions for weeks, not just a couple days. She had high fever, tachycardia, low blood oxygen level, dizziness, and trouble breathing. She had to take albuterol in a nebulizer. When she told her pulmonologist he wrote a letter for her to take to the vaccination site for the 2nd dose. The letter said that despite her reactions she needed that 2nd dose. The staff at the site weren't buying it and wouldn't give her the 2nd dose. They made arrangements for her to get the 2nd dose at the emergency room of a hospital. Three nurses sat with her and kept her conversing so they could detect if something started going wrong. Bottom line: Despite reactions, it is very important to get vaccinated. But whatching out for ppssible effects and comfirming theres no correlation is a normal and responsible process. My wife had only mild reactions to the 2nd shot. Her case is very rare. She has chronic asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis among other health issues. She reacts poorly even to the annual flu vaccines, but still gets them. Nobody should be afraid of the vaccine because of her reaction. I live outside the space time continuum. Look at the facts which are that less than 40 out of the 17 million who have had the vaccine have had blood clots. This is in line with how many you’d expect to have blood clots from that sample size anyway, as the EU regulator said herself National governments are using this as a scapegoat for their poor planning and lack of vaccine distribution Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
