Rep. Tony Tinderholt, a Republican, introduced the “Abolition of Abortion in Texas Act,” or House Bill 896, in January to "protect the rights of an unborn child" but it was granted its first committee hearing on Monday and Tuesday. The title looked like "New bill in Texas proposes death penalty for..." on the new threads list and I immediately said "...abortions?" They're so predictable the GOP is more interested in fighting culture wars like womens rights, LGBT rights, PoC rights, etc all simply as a distraction to pass legislation that restricts voting rights and pads their own pockets.
