It literally says there that Folklore opened up with 846k album equivalent units

I think drake's number is from songs sales combined in streaming, not album sales, idk

the scars on my mind are on replay.

I can't wait until pop/rock is trendy again. I'm so over hip-hop and mumble rap.

Hip-hop has always been trendy, or at least since the 90s

I wonder whether or not he knew that it wouldn’t be eligible to chart

Streaming only gives an artist a tiny amount of money for each stream, I can’t remember the calculation atm but it’s really not impressive whatsoever. But a huge perk of huge streaming numbers would normally be a boost on total sales for an album that would help skyrocket it up the charts to secure another #1, but in this case it’s just numbers that don’t amount to anything or really too much money

EDIT: oh actually, because of the high streams, this collection of songs would net a lot of money :vegas: but he probably would have been better off saving them for an album surely just for the #1 too?

But it was never as prominent in top 40 as it is now. The top 10 is mostly filled with hip-hop/rap and has been for a very long time.

I hate mumble rap too, but you’re not obligated to listen to any music that you don’t like

Very true but I just want to see more diversity in the top 40 again.

This. I still haven’t even heard several “Top 10 smashes” from even last year.

this is true, but it would be nice to turn on the radio sometimes and not want to turn it off immediately
