I mean I think definitely since the collapse of the empire in the mid 1900s. The problem is that the UK has often been in denial that we're not a world superpower. Piers has said things that have been racist in the past. And if you look at the Meghan situation, he was defending the Royal Family and claiming he was offended that she'd call out the family for having concerns over how dark Archie's skin was. 

With this situation, its not necessarily him saying the N Word or coming out with something obvious in your face. It happens a lot in the UK and in the media, its kind of subtly there. 

Its like everything to defend someone's racist actions by dismissing it and claiming "its just curiosity". Its a desperation by the woman in the clip (and by Piers) to defend the royal family because they don’t like what they've been hearing. Its white fragility. 

With Piers though, he constantly attacks and dismisses Meghan's comments about the racism she faced and acts like he's offended by her calling it out. Sharon is doing the same thing while trying to defend Piers.

This is why cancel culture has lost its way. The worst of society should be cancelled - the pedos, the abusers etc but you have black people calling for anyone who doesn't immediately agree with everything they say and want yet they will go and stan Chris  Brown and say he should be forgiven. It's so hypocritical. 

I agree with a lot of this other than the fact it's not just Black people, it's white, black, etc. aka people on Twitter who call for people to be cancelled over every little thing. I have had people on twitter cancel certain celebs and defend people like Chris Brown and Michael Jackson and it's like what

To be honest I don't think he is racist (at least I haven't seen much proof of it). I do believe he is a misogynist, and that's probably why his underlying bias can be taken as racism when it comes to a woman of color.

I honestly think he is a good riddance because even though what he says doesn't directly affect people instantly, it does empower the people who will actually take their discrimination into action.

He didn't defend the racist comments - he questioned whether the comments were racist. 

1) It's been confirmed that Archie wasn't not made a prince because of his skin colour/ethnicity

The main fall-out surrounding Piers is that he said he doesn't believe Meghan's accounts. A lot of people are saying that is racist, but there is no evidence to suggest that's the case. If Piers doesn't believe Meghan because she is black, then yes, that is clearly racist. But he has said countlessly that his views are not based on the colour of Meghan's skin - it's because he doesn't like her or how she has been perceived to behave.

I think it is dangerous territory if a victim of racism cannot be criticised for other things, unrelated to their race. 

I do not deny that Meghan has been subjected to some racism, but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to express a negative opinion about her that isn't racist. And not every negative opinion about a black or ethnic person is racist.

No it hasn't. The rules of who can and can't be a prince can easily be changed. Why weren't they changed for Archie, knowing full well that he has an increased risk level attached to him as the son of Harry and Meghan?

White people haven’t experienced the level of racism black people have. So much so that sometimes when we see racism we don’t recognize that is is racist. So when a black woman tells you it’s racist, that’s what it is. As a white person, won’t don’t have the privilege to erase or question their perception. 

Also, this isn’t one person saying it’s racist. Thousands agree. 
 

Being concerned a child’s skin color is too dark for your liking is racist. I understand a lot of people love the Royals and they want to defend them but when you defend them, that makes you racist. 
 

Piers is racist. And you defending this makes you racist, too. And you are so privileged that you can’t even see that. 
 

Before commenting, take a step back and think about it. Because this conversation is over.
