Better Day 5,766
“THOSE of an age to remember will never forget the moment they heard about the Dunblane massacre. The facts still feel as raw as when they happened. Twenty-five years ago this weekend, on March 13, 1996, a schoolteacher and 16 of her five and six year old pupils were murdered, and 13 others injured, in the gym of Dunblane primary school. The teacher, Mrs Gwen Mayor, had attempted to fight off the killer, Thomas Hamilton, who fired over 100 rounds. She died with children she had been trying to protect by her side.” Source: https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/19147215.dunblane-25-years-memory-will-never-fade/ RIP to all the victims of this horrible sad day. bionic 50,111
The way Scotland and the UK responded to this and reformed gun control puts the USA to shame. RIP to all the victims and hope their family have been getting the ongoing support they'll no doubt need for the rest of their lives
Diamond Heart 4,400
My mum always talks about watching this on the news as it happened, parents screaming their kids names trying to find out if theyd been hurt. Horrifying. Im so glad we changed our gun control laws after this, and had no mass shootings since. Rest in Peace to the victims. Honestly couldn’t imagine what was going through the peoples minds that day. I am glad that this type of thing made the Government at the time change the laws to ban private guns. Sadly this type of thing is needed to reform a country for the better. Together You And I!
MOT 3,616
I remember it clearly, where I was when I heard about it and who told me. I consider it to be the most unspeakable thing I have ever heard. RIP to those who died, and thoughts and prayers with the injured and with the families of all the victims.
