I still remember fans being mad at Gaga for filming ASIB when they wanted a video for The Cure. They even called ASIB “A Star Is Distracted”

Retron

It's a Ridley Scott movie. The man who directed Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma & Loise, and Gladiator.

It's coming out in peak Oscar season.

Yes, it's gonna be a big deal, folks.

Well, of course I'm excited and we have to be optimistic, but we'll see :)

I'm excited as ****... I always said it - I love that her acting career is just starting...

I absolutely loved ASIB (but/and we also got an album, so), but it's double for me. Because if this is another huge success, she might venture even more into acting, while I (and a lot of other fans) especially love her for her music.
I don't wanna constrict Gaga to just one thing, and she has proven several times that she can combine more things, but I really just hope that she doesn't push music to the background or god forbid, even stop with music.

That quote of "I wanted to be an actress before I wanted to become a singer" continues to baffle me, because (even though what you're best in isn't necessarily the thing you like the most), I think almost all fans would agree with that she's a WAAAY better musician than actress. Her acting is great, but she's eg no Viola Davis, whereas as a singer she's AMAZING, and in a league of her own.

That woman lives music. She will never stop making music. She has said this several times. And she wants to make one movie per year if possible. She's a free woman and she can do both. :vegas:

This would have been better as a Netflix/HBO Original project, I feel. I don't know that this story has the mass appeal needed to beat a Hollywood budget + marketing. I think the most interesting thing about it is Gaga's participation

I'll be honest, and might get some icy flapjacks for it, but the only thing that interests me about this movie is Gaga; in fact, I probably won't see it, and I doubt it will be a commercial success. I would guess that a very slim minority of moviegoers has any interest in the Gucci story

Each to their own, but I find it so strange that a fan of the caliber of being on GGD would not watch a movie where Gaga is the lead.

About the interest, in se you might be right, but I think a lot of it will depend on how they market and present it. Is it an exciting thriller story? Is it a mysterious drama? That attracts people, I guess, and then just "... that happens to be about Gucci" is added.

Also this isn't just another Ridley Scott film. It is THE Ridley Scott film. Him and his wife have been working on this for over a decade!! This movie is like a child for them. The fact that it is finally being made and he has Gaga starring in it with this A List cast is HUGE. He can be hit or miss with some projects but he's been mega successful and I have no doubt this will be his best or one of his best films.

If it is indeed a crime thriller (and btw Gucci) then I will for sure watch it. I am also really looking forward to Bullet Train!
