I've never bragged on Gaga or MJ or anyone else having awards. But Zayn's latest album received mediocre/mixed reviews and there was no hit from it. He hasn't had any kind of hit since Dusk Till Dawn and basically everything after his debut album was released with no fanfare. His first album was the only one that sold and he's never promoted any of his work or toured. Because of this, I can assume he doesn't campaign for nominations which is how most award shows operate. It's also worth noting that it took until now for 1D as a group or soloists to gain a nomination. They never got one as a group and none of them got one as soloists with their debut albums. Harry's latest album was acclaimed enough however that he was finally granted hallowed access to the ceremony but he's probably the only one who will. Zayn just needs to look at the pattern and accept that it's unfortunate but just the way it is. Boybands have never been highly favoured by the academy and unless you're an MJ or a JT, your chances of getting nominations when you strike out on your own are rare.
