Two SNP MPs accused of sexual assault

AN SNP employee has accused two MPs of sexually harassing him in separate incidents in London.

The young man complained to SNP HQ about the incidents last month and now says they are being swept under the carpet. 

The first incident is alleged to have happened in 2016 in The Water Poet pub between the man and a male SNP MP. 

The second is said to have taken place in Westminster's Strangers Bar in January 2020.

This is a big story because the party are currently embroiled in a major row in the Scottish Parliament about other attempts to cover up sexual assault

Ian Blackford needs to resign and the two MP need to resign as MPs. It is an obvious problem with the SNP with members being touchy feely.

I have a meeting with my local SNP branch tomorrow, I am not happy with these stories that is coming out. Every party has its problem.

I feel like this is another reach to try take the SNP down, I'm sorry... the thing with Salmond failed and now they are grasping at straws.

I kind of feel this as well. It’s just constant smear campaigns.

Sexual assault is serious, don't get me wrong... but its one thing after the other. And what convenient timing than right after Salmond's case (which legally acquitted Salmond of the charges)... like its so obvious at this point.

I'm very dubious that these accusations are actually the truth because, as we know, the media love to make things up. They know that independence support hangs in the balance in those who are undecided. The recent stunt with Salmond, and the unionists parties, made the independence polling drop to around 50/50. So its just really obvious that after one failed, they are trying it again to really knock the support of the SNP and Independence. 

They are trying everything to make the SNP, Nicola, and the independence movement look bad so that the undecided people will be put off by what they read in the papers. Its a disgusting smear campaign

The SNP spokesman seems to support the accusations, they just said that its not their issue to deal with (complain to the parliamentary staff, not the party). The accuser is complaining that the SNP seem to just wash their hands of the complaints rather than suspending whip (as Ms Dolly suggested earlier as an outcome)

Do you really believe that? The whole article sounds made up tbh...  I don't believe they even spoke to a 'SNP spokesperson'.

• I believe the SNP spokesperson said that this is an issue for the Parliament complaints process (rightly or wrongly, IDK)
• I believe that the timing of this coming out is not accidental. The most recent event occurred in early 2020, but was only reported to the party last month.

Never believe what you read in the papers. The British media don't report the truth, and until a SNP MP is on camera live on air talking about this, take any article you read with a pinch of salt

You know how bad the media can be from the Harry + Meghan ordeal, so why believe them now? 

I don’t believe these accusations are the truth, nor do I believe an SNP spokesman actually spoke to The Herald. 

Of course the timing is not accidental... its a smear campaign against the SNP and Independence movement. The media KNOW what they are doing, and they will try everything to make the SNP look bad... including making fake articles about the SNP.

Ian Blackford is the SNP Westminster leader, so unless he says something about these 'accusations' then its a complete fallacy and the whole thing is made up

@bionic @xoxo Craig I am going to be on the fence with this. It could be a complete fallacy or it could be truth. I am unsure as the SNP has not mentioned it today. I’ve saw articles in both the Record and the Herald which are both anti-snp parties. Just wait for the outcome of this situation and just hope Nicola Sturgeon does the right thing.
