Now that I've heard their side of the story it really puts a lot of things into perspective, and I feel ashamed for having believed some of the stories about them that have been swirling around for the past few years. That comment about Archie's skin color was really damning, omg. Hopefully this whole situation gives those snobby racists in the palace a good scare. Lots of stuff in the interview made sense but other stuff they said was ridiculous and made them seem so privileged and cringey. 2. I don't know why ppl are shocked to hear Megan say that the tabloids were all fake. The British press has been fake and horrible to just about any royal at some point in history. The avocado one is utterly ridiculous and I feel bad for her. 3. I don't get why Harry would expect security when he's literally leaving the family and you don't get security if you're a non-working royal. Also, i'm pretty sure it's the government that pays for the security not the family itself, so that's not the family's fault. 4. How could Megan be so naive and say she had no idea about the royals, or who Harry was or that she had to curtsy to the queen? Like what? You thought this was just like any other family? Give me a break. She also stated she was friends with Eugenie prior so clearly she must've known a thing or two about royals. 5. At the end of the day we only have their side of the story and who knows what Kate, William and Charles have to say about it. We'll never know anyways. 6. The way it works is that if you're the grandchild of a King or queen you get titles. So basically it goes 2 generations back. It might be in trouble with Charles but William and Kate are adored by the public and Prince George may win them over too. At the end of the day the monarchy brings a boatload of money into the economy through tourism and interest so I can see the government supporting the monarchy well past our lifetimes. If Spain, Denmark and other countries still have royals despite them being so lowkey and less of an attraction, Britain will surely keep them as well unless a huge scandal happens that kicks them out. If she really had concerns over your color, she would have never welcomed her into the palace. Don't play the race card just because everything else has been played and lost. Don't get me wrong—I'm on Meghan and Harry's side—but I do think expecting security was too much. HOWEVER, Andrew is still a non-working royal and gets security & it sounds like they weren't given any sort of transition period into getting their own security. In the US, presidents get lifetime security and I believe their kids get it for a while before it's slowly eased out...it's not just "no more security." Also, Charles has plenty of private money and while he's not obligated...it seems incredibly cold to not offer to pay security when your own grandson, son, and DIL are getting racist death threats. I actually think Harry should have pointed out that Andrew, a non working royal who is wanted for FBI questioning, gets security still. 6. Yeah, I agree it was definitely Charles. Everyone knows Phillip is racist; Charles is the one who would have a huge impact if it came out. I think Harry and Meghan should have just said it, but I also think they have enough affection for the Queen that they don't want to "destroy" the monarchy (and lbr, if Harry came out and said my own Dad, the future King, was racist about my son that would have an enormous impact...esp. compounded with the Diana stuff.
