Sour Candy does not represent the album. Additionally, Nicki Minaj's album did not really have any ballads because she is a rapper. Nicki was however, extremely proud of that Roman Holiday track and it did capture the album's vibe seeing as the album was named after the song "Roman Reloaded" . She would mention it was a personal fav of hers etc...Gaga did no such thing about Sour Candy. She hardly even spoke about Blackpink either (she literally mentioned them like twice). It is clear she is not THAT into the song. It's totally different situations. When a popstar performs at the grammys they performs ballads or huge hits or songs they are super proud of and are just album tracks. Sour Candy doesn't fit any of those bills tbh.

you lost me at "she is not THAT into the song" :rip:

It's 2021 and we're still arguing about whether Gaga likes her own creations or not.

Gaga has her own private life, she's not gonna call you personally and remind you everyday while you have breakfast "Hey I love Sour Candy in case you forgot!"

when you can't back up your points you choose to go this route which makes no sense at all :rip:

No need to get all sassy and sarcastic just because you disagree.

Your arguments don't make sense from literally the first sentence. Any song from an album is representative of the album. Sure, there are differing degrees of "representation", perhaps the singles are more representative of the album than some album cuts, but any song can theoretically serve as a representation.

Most artists are proud of their own creations. You claiming Nicki Minaj caring about Roman Holiday but Gaga not with Sour Candy, where is your evidence? We have very few Chromatica interviews but almost like 80% of these interviews, she talks about Sour Candy and how much she loves BLACKPINK. "I am proud to be the fifth member of BLACKPINK", at one point she said. She repeatedly says "I love these girls so much!"

Compared to songs like Enigma, Plastic Doll, 1000 Doves, Fun Tonight, she clearly pays more attention to Sour Candy than these solo tracks. Now you may argue that SC is mentioend because it is a collab and interviewers like to ask about exciting collabs, yes you are right, but it does prove that she has expressed positive sentiments for the track many many times, which you did not acknowledge.

P/S: I don't even have high hopes that she's going to perform at the Grammys, and I'm not saying SC will be performed. I'm just saying if SC was chosen, there is no historical record that says that it will not be allowed by the Academy.

I doubt she'd recycle an old performance for the grammys, but then again she recycled a butchered version of the JWT for that lupus event so...

we're in a pandemic, if it wasn't for covid I know for a fact she wouldn't recycle an old performance which is why it would  upset everyone if she won't give one to the Grammys this year

But my argument is NOT that the Academy wouldn't let her perform Sour Candy. My points were simply indicating a pattern by various artists. The patterns as stated were that typically most artists performs either ballads from their albums, huge hits from their albums OR tracks that they gave special attention to. Did I lie when I said Gaga did no such thing for Sour Candy? No because simply put she hasn't? So that fits the bill of NOT being a song she has shown lots of love to, not being a huge hit (as it was not a single) and it is not a ballad.

Additionally, I did not say she hates the song or dislikes it either. You are placing statements in my words that I did not make. I simply said that it was perhaps a song that she is NOT that into because it hasn't been shown lots of love compared to other tracks on the album that she dived more into during her few interviews this era. This does not mean she hates the song or even dislikes it. It simply means there are other songs that she has shown more attention to which kind of gives them higher probabability of being performed at the grammys.

My post is simply to let ppl know that getting hopes up for a Sour Candy performance is a little bit illogical not only because Gaga is likely NOT performing (as we both agree on) but that there are proven patterns that most artists follow (including Gaga). Ballads, huge hits or songs an artist has show lots of attention to. Again, Sour Candy doesnt fit any of these descriptions.

Thanks for giving me your reasons etc..I literally enjoy these types of posts a lot more cuz we can have constructive conversation and debate (which is what you usually do so I was surprised you answered in such a sassy way earlier lol :stalkga: )! We can agree to disagree I guess on this one (although I dont really see how there is anything to disagree with in my post seeing as it simply indicates a pattern that most big artists follow when performing at the Grammys) but I respect your opinion.
