The sooner you realize the Republicans are against democracy and are hell bent on keeping people poor to benefit the wealthy, the better.

The sooner you realize democrats and republicans are working together to accomplish this, the better. Dems had several avenues available to them to accomplish their agenda but were too chicken$h!t to use them.

8 Senators from a center right party voted against something related to increasing the minimum wage? I’m shocked.

The Republicans will win the House and possibly Senate in 2022. Warnock could easily lose Georgia in 2022. Might as well throw Biden’s presidency in the trash.

He must win a battle for an increase in minimum wage before next year.

If 8 senators voted against it, what makes you think that Kamala stepping in to shove it to a floor vote would yield any different result?

This really isn’t Biden’s fault — one Dem senator could kill the amendment and there’s as many as 8 of them who would.

I’ll say it louder for the people in the back: $15/hr IS the compromise.

The REAL minimum wage should be something like $24/hr.

This doesn’t make any sense what avenues are you talking about?

Coronavirus stimulus IS our top agenda item...

Yup, but Democrats are the only ones we can rely on to at least be pushed towards progressive policies. The political choices in the US are abysmal.

The problem lies within the Democratic Party not being a leftist party like some of us would want.

Imagine having an incoherent meltdown over centrist Dem’s reputation and not the fact workers won’t get a raise wage...

I'm mentally preparing myself for the Dems to lose the House and Senate next year. Some days it feels like the only priority was getting Trump and Pence out.

It was. “We are not Trump” was the main message from the Democratic Party in 2020.

If they fail to deliver on things that actually help people they will lose in the future.

Don’t forget 74M people voted for Trump in 2020. After everything he had done.

You have to come in ready to fight fascism with bold action that will completely destroy any chances of them succeeding in the future.

Democrats aren’t the party to do that.

The minimum wage wouldn’t magically increase tomorrow. There is a transition period up until 2025, I believe.

Yes. A small increase this summer, then a $1.5 increase yearly until 2025

No they really aren't. It's nice they're working on getting the pandemic under control, but outside of that I'm not impressed by anything else happening. Like wtf? Take the damn gloves off and come out swinging already.

The future for them really is looking bleak. At this rate they are bound to lose the house and the senate in 2022 and then Trump has set himself up for a comeback in 2024. Who are the dems going to run against him? Kamala? Please... :toofunny:

I feel we have a good chance to keep the senate, im worried about the house. But we'll see, things can be unpredictable in a midterm election. My biggest concern is gerrymandering, with the incomplete census data that is determining the seat distribution and republicans controlling most major state legislatures, there is gonna be huge congressional gerrymandering, especially in states with conservative supreme courts (Looking at Florida)

Republicans are working on voter suppression for the midterms right now as we speak.

Your taxes for 2021 will go up as part of Trump’s tax plan in 2017. It will be blamed on Biden.

I want you to understand that us more left leaning people are critical of Democrats but we don’t want you to lose. Democrats are the only hope for any progress in this country and it’s ridiculous to see how nothing gets done when Republicans are literal fascists and aren’t afraid to get dirty.

It's not dead. It's not happening on this bill. This is exactly why Harris didn't vote, to not show party division. Nice showboating Bernie. I guess Bernie has a new book coming out soon. Make some more millions off people's  naivety.

Bernie is legend.
