Even just going from voice alone, she doesn't remind me of Mariah at all.  

Mariah's voice is very very high, and light. Ava's is deeper and more growl-y and leans into a more power-pop vocal, which is another reason why people not in-the-know think her songs are Gaga songs on the radio - they're voice sisters/cousins because of what register they favor, like Dua/Katy/Marina IMO.

I mean she can belt so I don't see the comparison problem. I think she doesn't sound anything like Gaga and the comparisons are just based in styling. 

I think she sound like Christina Aguilera at times.
