Japan has asked China to stop taking anaI swab tests for Covid-19 on its citizens when they enter the country.

Some have complained that the procedure caused them "psychological distress", officials say.

China, which has largely brought the virus under control, started carrying out anaI swabs in January.

Unless you have a genuine reason to not do so (i.e. medical, PTSD-related, etc) then comply with the rules.

Well, they are just protecting their citizens who are visiting/entering China. There should be options for folks to choose, but since it's China gov, I doubt they actually know what that is.

Idk how I feel about this morally. For one thing, it's just a medical procedure and people are subjected to uncomfortable searches in order to be allowed to travel all the time. But for another thing, it does seem like a very callous invasion of something most people consider highly intimate.

Yeah, they shouldn't be doing mandatory anaI swabs on people. I can see why people would be highly uncomfortable with it, considering how intimate it is compared to regular tests and most people would consider it very invasive, so there should be an option to get tested in another way.

i mean it's pretty invasive but as long as you don't have to do it in the middle of the airport terminal, with all due respect, it really isn't that big and shouldn't be THAT much of a concern, at least no more than oral tests. dignity and humiliation are probably the biggest concerns with it, so privacy is what matters. however, you should probably have the choice.
