My view is different, tho, when it comes to any particular established artist. I think if a musical style was great in the past, there is no reason it can't still be great now and in the future. I don't think an artist's sound needs to evolve, but instead an artist could stick with what made the artist famous in the first place. I guess you could call it a signature sound. The ONLY way it could is if there’s a prominent sample of a nostalgic song from that era — THAT has proven to work, especially on TikTok. People love nostalgia (obviously) and it’s something people can capitalize on successfully. But then again, it’s ARIANA we’re talking about, not some up-and-coming independent artist.
