The difference is that a lot of fans were theorizing that the oreo deal was planned way before the era even started and it was something she went through with because of contracts and stuff. Now we know that this idea was created well after chromatica era started, meaning that she could have done other things to promote the era but instead decided to sell cookies and look so uninterested even with that.
