Glad I didn't hold my breath waiting for loan forgiveness. Go figure that he lied on his campaign trail so he can win, looking forward to seeing him half-ass or straight up not do the things he said he'd do leading up to the election.

Yeah.... sorry but that’s really unreasonable. There’s no way that was gonna happen. :awkney:

Unreasonable is a $1.5 trillion tax cut to people who don’t need it and will never “pay for itself.”

This actually WILL stimulate the economy and people DO need it. The federal govt can snap its fingers to create any number necessary, but they just chose not to. And since this could just be an EO, Biden is the unreasonable one here specifically.

I’ve been very charitable to Biden lately, but this is indefensible.

I support him on this. People (myself included) got into student debt knowing the consequences of it. We aren't entitled to any relief.

Besides, if Biden wipes all existing debt then what happens next? The cycle continues with new students. We need to tackle the source, not the symptom.

that's also my question... there needs to be a whole renovation on the loan system/college costs in general or it's just going to keep repeating itself over time.

I agree we know what we got ourselves into; we aren't entitled, but you have to admit that there's an issue with college tuition, federal loan interest rates, and the job market. Interest rates for student loans have been rising while an increase in post grad unemployment continues. It's hard to break even when you start out severely disadvantaged right out of school.

"Besides, if Biden wipes all existing debt then what happens next?"
from joebiden's website: "... by adopting Senator Sanders' proposal to make public colleges and universities tuition-free for all".
