RQ: Born This Way Demo

Hi all!

 

Recently re-discovered this old gem and now I'm asking for your help! I have some things I would like to know about this Born This Way Demo...

1. Do we have this in a higher quality?

2. Is there a full version of this?

3. When did this appear on the internet and where on earth did it come from? Do we know the original source of this demo?

4. I think I read that this "demo" is just unused born this way vocals and lyrics that were remixed. Is this true and if so, where/who is this remix by?

UPDATE: I just did a GagaDaily deep dive and found some threads that lead me to this. This song is s remix using the real unused vocal takes and lyrics. From my understanding, this was supposed to be an official remix, but was never officially released? Anyway, the remix is titled "Born This Way (Hedegaard & Brandon Beal Remix)" and it can be listened to via the soundcloud link below. This is not the remix that was in the video above (if anyone knows where that comes from, please let me know), but it's a great remix nonetheless.

If I remember right, the first leak of the demo with the Kelly green lyrics and gods ribbons was actually a remix. And parts of the remix were taken for these mashups. @ChicaSkas does that sounds familiar?

It appears you are right! Just updated the post with the remix that these lyrics seem to have came from.

That is exactly what I would like to know. Apparently Gaga said at some point in time that she was going to release a "second version" or "second music video" of Born This Way, which never ended up happening. These vocals could have stemmed from that project, or could have just been from an early demo of the song. The latter seems more likely to me.

Same. Like if this remix was intended to be released officially then the original song that was gonna be released had to have those extra lyrics. I also remember Gaga said that BTW has like 50 versions? Idk i would also love to see that 2nd music video.

the second version she was talking about is the country road version. 

she re-recorded the vocals the same day she did the final touches on government hooker.

Yes they were. Remixers were given the demo. It was the.... damn I cant remember.... hold on

It had a name.... it was 2 men.... damn... I dont remember... this is gonna bug me.

It WAS on youtube 10 years ago, I remember the article interviewing the men. I also remember it was a BIG deal when it came out.

Some thoughts... I don't think any of us ever got to hear the entire demo .

I think Hedegaard and Brandon Beal asked to remix the song and got sent the demo instead of the final. Could have been any number of errors.

So they remixed the demo believing the demo to be the official single.

It was only after the single was released followed by their remix a month or so later that we as fans could spot the difference.

It also jibes with Paul saying they made so many different versions of this song. 

Incidentally, have you all heard Paul's new remix of Born This Way for the 10 year anniversary?
