Speak Now will probably win

I think speak now is the frontrunner too, poor diane warren for yet another oscar loss

(or losses, if all her 2 songs from the shortlist get nominated this year :selena:)

“Io Sì (Seen)” from “The Life Ahead (La Vita Davanti a Se)”

This is written by Diane Warren, our dear friend :D  Pretty great song.

i’ve seen almost all the major contenders except the ones that are coming out within the next month or so (united states vs. billie holliday, french exit, judas and the black messiah, the father) plus a few like supernova that haven’t come out yet for purchase or streaming. the father on feb. 26th is the last release date of a major contender, the rest have been released online. even big ones like Minari and Nomadland that are coming out this month have had their screeners leak.

Ya but the GP won't have seen hardly any of them.

maybe the GP should be less lazy then, they’re all out there and very easy to watch

Miss Corona says hi. I know it seems strange to very online people but a lot of folks still rely on the cinema to see movies and that just hasn't been an option.

People thought it was a short term thing so didn't bother. Plus not everyone can afford streaming services etc. Lots of reasons but clearly most people will not have seen the vast majority of Oscar movies.

“most people” probably don’t see the vast majority every year. if you have the desire to watch them you will find a way to watch them. i actually feel like most people do have streaming services. it’s easier and less expensive to watch things online in the comfort of your own home than it is to go out to the cinema.

There's a difference between the amount of films viewed this year and last year for the general movie fan for a reason.  (which is my point)
