I thought they named it after that character on NBC's hit 80's TV show 227. I mean the racial stereotyle was no longer there The family suggested they actually liked having her there as a legacy Aunt Jemima isn’t solely based on one specific woman. It was based in a song and racist “mummy” stereotype in 1933. Multiple enslaved women played the mummy role of Aunt Jemima. It is a brand decision deeply rooted in racist ideology regardless of what the family members may have thought. Religion is a product to sell. Spoiler really it's just a scam, Southern Florida is a blue state as far as I'm concerned. But I think we could raise some money because it sounds like such a good cause. CameronSpears 2,149
I mean I don't care. It's a little sad just because I grew up with it and everything, but looking back it's very racist and it was time to fix that issue. I'll def make sure I support and get some syrup I guess that's why some Aunt Jemima's were on sale a while ago.

The family said the woman who is Aunt Jemima took pride in having her be the face of the brand. I've never heard of any black people feeling offended or targeted from this brand. This is a typical case of white SJW's deciding there's a racial problem, rather than from the people who may actually be affected by it.
