Ban wet markets, limit extreme rate of urbanisation and have proper disease control in place and hygiene rules to abide by.

Yes, unfortunately these farmers have to make a living somehow but the Chinese gov and the UN need to do more to solve this issue.

I don't think it's unfair to address that countries with lower sanitation standards, unimaginably high populations and loose regulations when it comes to how food is handled and the conditions it's stored in are more susceptible to the onset and spread of viruses to humans. This not only affects the country in question but, as we see, the entire earth as well.

China knew about the virus and the potential of its spread and deliberately withheld that information from the rest of the world. That is unconscionable. And not a single part of China's guilt is in the hands of its citizens. It's all on the ruling classes, and it's disturbing that there's no accountability for what they've allowed to happen. This isn't any less likely to happen again, we could be seeing the same thing again in 60 years or less.

I don't give a **** if it was made in a lab or spread from a butcher's animals, the government of China made a clear decision to hide the existence and severity of the virus and that should be the discussion here if anything.

Economy

Ok but we have proof it was in humans before December. They found it in a 4 year old Italian boy in the fall

The only other explanation is that Wuhan is where the outbreak first got bad but not the first place virus was in

Zoonotic disease would still be a thing even without meat consumption :oprah: And it's literally just bats anyway because their immune systems are freakishly weird.

But slaughtering hundreds of them in unsanitary conditions around hundreds of other people and raw foods....animal feces coming into contact with other dead animals for sale it’s asking for this.

I read title as "strand of covid that was said to be extremely unlikely to leak actually leaks from lab" and I thought damn 2021 got 2020 beat on how bad it is :messga:
