Babylon.

I personally would’ve cut Applause from the album.

My. Lawyer. Liked. That.

I mean, Applause as an album closer never made much sense imo. On the other hand, Babylon is a perfect closer and an amazing song.

how doesn't it make sense? It makes so much sense. It's the end of an album, the end of a show, hence an applause.

I will also not stand for the Applause slander throughout this thread!

Applause vs  babylon

 Or

Both tracks are probably two of gagas most iconic sounds but which is the better song

I love Applause, but Babylon is the better closer.

It doesn't make sense. Yes at the end of a show you give an applause but the actual vibe and sound of the song doesn't feel like a closer. It could be placed in the middle of the album and it would still make sense.

Babylon is perfect for a closer, both in principle and in sound. It really does feel that the album has come to the end when we reach Babylon.

What does the music video and concept have to do with it being the last song on the album? @ some of these replies.

Anyway, if it wasn't for the beginning of Aura having the intro that it does, to me, Applause and Aura should switch because for me Applause makes so much sense as an opening given the energy that it has especially at the beginning.

While Babylon as a closer works very well especially following 1000 Doves.

Unpopular opinion, I guess, but:

I never really liked Babylon as an album closer, I think it should’ve ended at 1000 Doves (on a sentimental note). I always thought Babylon would’ve been a better fit on the album after Rain On Me or Sour Candy.... but at the same time, it leaves Chromatica with a “fierce” / upbeat conclusion. Haha.

Same idea goes for Applause (I used to think ending on Gypsy would’ve been better), BUT..... it really sums up the album and is a good way to close it up conceptually (and in a way it’s full-circle moment, since it’s the lead single).

I’m gonna go with Applause for the sake of the thread, but The Edge of Glory is the best Gaga closer for me. :vegas:

Applause for sure.

ARTPOP always felt like a story from Aura to Gypsy and Applause was the credits/curtain call after the show was over. You literally applaud during it :applause:

How does it not make sense, applause is literally something you do at the end of a performance :laughga:
