It’s so glitchy, everytime I close the app I have to sign in again and it won’t let me edit my profile photo, banner, or bio.

totally stream "love can't save me now" by it's me, buddy :D

I 'm just glad that the time I had to worry about joining whatever app to not loose connection with my friends has thankfully passed. Most of my friends did not even made the switch to Instagram and since then I only joined GGD:bear:

Not really interested in social media and this looks quite similar to Instagram and Twitter.

What's the point?

I'm seeing a lot of pop fans on Twitter talking about it, though.

Makes me think there should be a social media app specifically for pop stans. That would be interesting and/or a mess. I mean, most people have fan accounts and worry about friends irl finding them. Would make sense to create a platform designed for supporting an artist.

You could even have, like, different trends for each artist - so you're able to see what's happening right now in each fandom. You'd have 'Lady Gaga trends', 'Taylor Swift trends', ect... and then an overall trending page to see who's dominating pop discussion.

Imagine the competition between fan groups... and the engagement it could lead to :bradley:

Could be a pretty powerful commercial idea, too, as it would give record labels a very direct route to hardcore pop fans, which we know can do the grassroots word-of-mouth marketing to slowly build an artist's fame.

And... in time, the pop artists themselves could join the platform to interact with fans directly, without having to speak to the wider public at the same time.

Anyway. Thoughts anyone?

don't wanna bring up kpop every single second but there is an example of this in kpop. the v-live and weverse apps are two examples of fan-artist apps, specifically designed for creating a space for fans to post fanart and fanmade remixes and messages to their favourite artists, and v-live is an app specifically for livestreaming.

something like it with western artists sure would be interesting.

That's really interesting! The Asian social media industry is so fascinating and always, always ahead of the curve. Maybe it's a sign something like this will launch soon in the west.

yes. it sure seems like the next step. although a lot of kpop fans aren't that active on them, since they are VERY heavily moderated and monetised, i don't see it being so heavily controlled if something like it launches for western artists.
