Chromatica will probably be her last Dance Pop album (for a while)

I’m not making this to complain, but I wanted to share what I think to see if everyone else agrees, or if maybe y’all are in a Perfect illusion 

At the beginning of last year Gaga said she wanted to release lots of different type of music. Last year she released a dance pop album, and this year she’ll release a jazz album. I thinks she’s probably got a plan on what genres she’d like to explore, but I definitely think she’s trying to repeat the Dance pop / jazz / ballad pattern she did with ARTPOP / CTC / Joanne. I think her next album will be HAC like a lot of Joanne was, and that will probably be released in 2022 or 2023. After that, I think she’ll try something new. Maybe rock, maybe a musical. But I definitely don’t think she’ll put another dance pop album until at least 2025. I still think she’ll probably do solo releases though, similar to The Cure, and we may even get a Chromatica EP or deluxe with new tracks. But outside of that we probably won’t get any more dance pop.

Honestly, I might be delusional, but I think she may release a B-side to Chromatica this year as well along with the jazz album. It would be interesting to see what she does this year

She said that she loves dance music so I don't think it will be her last for a while. She may flirt with other genres but I do expect her next solo album to be a variation of pop or dance or dance-pop

I hope not. As much as I've enjoyed Cheek To Cheek, Joanne and A Star Is Born, I really feel like Chromatica was a FINALLY type of album that I really needed, especially because it kind of made ARTPOP a full circle in some way but that's just me. She spent those 7 years releasing really great music and achieving incredible things, allowing non fans to get to know about her vocal skills. Whatever she decides to do I'll support it but she was so ready to go full popstar last year that sadly the pandemic had to put that on hold for a while. She seemed like she had a lot of plans so maybe with the next album she's gonna be able to make up for this year.

This would surprise me (though I hope you're right!). I'm not expecting any solo releases (unless she contributes a song to a movie soundtrack, maybe?). I guess we've had a few one-offs previous to The Cure (e.g. Stuck on F*ckin You, Stache) but those examples were just for funsies and not released to radio like The Cure, right?

I guess I'm thinking this way because I view Gaga as such an 'album artist' -- she has concepts and themes and storylines that she starts with and builds off of that are too big for one-offs, or she wants to do so much with an idea that stopping at one song feels like it doesn't honor the concept enough for her. Hoping I'm wrong in my interpretation though, it would be so fun to get surprise releases every now and then from her!

Oh, or maybe she would be willing to feature on other artists' singles? Though I don't think of that as very likely, either... Hmm!

Speaking of genre exploration, I hope we get more team-ups like her performance with Metallica, or solo work in the same vein...

I wouldn’t mind. I would really like to see her do a full rock album next tho, her voice and personality really match that genre. Let’s not forgot she did say she was “a rockstar trapped inside the body of a pop star” before. And probably really meant it. 
 

besides that, I’d like to see her explore other genres she hasn’t done fully yet.

I agree! It’s not all the time she does solo releases but I think if she’s going to take a break from music this decade for family she could just release some one off singles for fans. And I agree, I would love some hard rock from her. Even if it’s just an EP or single, that would be great.

Hmmm, I really don't see Gaga doing a rock-ish album again anytime soon. I'm sure she and Interscope know that she is a popstar first and foremost, who can also pursue other avenues. Let's keep in mind Gaga has never gone two full calendar years without a major release. If this trend holds, I am guessing LG7 will come in 2023, since LGTB2 is coming in 2021.

2021: Chromatica Re-release (or remix album or something)

2021: Gucci movie

2021 - 2023: have a break, have a baby etc.

2024: Her adult-contemporary/ray of light album

This is the millionth thread of this statement, I do see her doing more genres tbh, but she will always be a dance pop artist, so it will not be her last one of this genre.
