It's been 13 years since Britney was placed in a Conservatorship

Today marks the 13th Anniversary of Britney being placed in a Conservatorship against her will.

13 years and Britney is still fighting for her freedom and basic human rights.

Britney was denied her legal right to hire her own lawyer, the Judge denied her request and placed her in the hands of her estranged abusive alcoholic father.

Since being placed in a Conservatorship Britney has gone on 3 world tours, released 4 studio albums, been a Judge on X Factor, has a billion dollar perfume line with Elizabeth Arden, has carried out countless interviews, completed a 5 year Las Vegas residency and much more.

Despite all of the above Britney is still unable to make any decisions about her own life.

Britney cannot speak about the conservatorship, she cannot choose who she sees - she has to have approval (even to see her own boyfriend), she has to have permission to drive and so much more.

Britney is given a small monthly allowance - someone who has worked so hard for over 20 years but can't even spend her own money or make life decisions. 

It's sad she's still paying for something that happened SO long ago.

In court filings last year Britney's lawyer said Britney welcomes the informed support from her dedicated fans regarding this issue.
