Like if you were to take the filler song out the album, the album would still make sense. Its a track just there to fill time. Heavy Metal Love is a filler track for example, and Gypsy on ARTPOP. I think Heavy Metal Lover's slutty, atmospheric, mid-tempo grind sounds very different from all the other tracks on the album. As such, it's a very welcome change of pace and tone and absolutely adds something to the album experience. Similarly, Gypsy's more organic Springsteen cosplay stands out amongst ARTPOP's more artificial EDM sounds. Plus the track is very much built into the shape and flow of the whole album, as a climactic shock of open-hearted emotional bombast coming after Dope. A filler is from artists that don’t write their songs - Rihanna, Beyoncé, Cher etc Rihanna and Beyonce both write on their albums don’t tell the Canadian but i don’t think Cher writes anything lol

Oriane 20,513
Exactly what you said. I see a lot of people saying a filler is a song that is unrelated to the theme of the album but to me, it's a song that doesn't have enough artistic value to add something to the album and it's just here for the album to have enough songs. So, to me, The Fame is full of fillers. There are a few hits at the beginning and then it's full of forgettable songs that she kind of put here to fill the album... People say Born this Way is full of fillers because the songs don't go with the "love yourself" and self-acceptance theme, but I think Born this Way is much more than that. It's also an album where she looks back at her younger years and her life with her friends in New York. And a lot of songs match this spirit. I also think each song clearly has its own identity, except for the bonus songs from the deluxe, each song is very unique and belongs here, so I couldn't consider any of them a filler. Italian 573
I don't know if that makes it a filler but HML was a very last-minute addition to the album (like, literally the week before album release I think)

Jeroen Bloeming 2,257
I think it's a song that you can skip, and the album would still feel complete. Like Americano on Born This Way.
BABYL0N 3,075
fillers are songs that add nothing to the album, they are just there with no memorable moments Typical examples for fillers: Summerboy, Teeth, Jewels N Drugs, Swine, Sinners Prayer Born This Way and Chromatica are really the only Gaga albums with no fillers where you can fully enjoy the album from the beginning to the end There might be weaker songs on them but they are not really out of the context they fit in with the album concept

Wow - both top 3 tracks on their significant albums for me! So uniquely Gaga and unlike anything the other pop girls have delivered ❣️
