homomo 23,883
So, I was listening to music and Die Young by Kesha came on shuffle. I haven't this song in years, so of course I had a nostalgic time bopping at my desk. However, it got me thinking about the future of music, especially in a post-covid world. When this song came out, it was peak early 2010s dance party. Every pop song was either about partying, drinking, dancing, love or a combination of all four. And they were all positive, dancy, and just straight-up a good time. To be honest, I personally think music will shift this way again once Covid settles down. When the bars/clubs/social events start opening up again, people will just want to have a good time - with or without alcohol of course. Those who never went out, will want to go out, and those who never danced, will want to go out and dance. And of course those who have always done this, will want to get back out there and just be around people with good music in a good atmosphere. We've already been seeing it happen. Many popular artists are currently releasing disco/dance/house inspired songs. And I feel this trend will only grow once people can actually go out and enjoy the music with friends again. 0110100001100101011011000110110001101111

Yxilon 5,248
If that will turn out to be true then when charts will be all disco/dance-music get ready for Gaga releasing a jazz album Everything could be everything (it could mean anything)
Anderson123 38,382
I hope this pushes artists to come up with their best music instead of just trying to hop on a trend to have a viral hit. Chromatica has helped a lot of people because of the mental health lyrics which were obviously written before COVID but fit what a lot of us have been feeling right now. Music will probably be happier so I'm interested to see what happens.
