Not her publicist cutting it off when she was about to answer the most interesting question :triggered:

She wanted to keep the focus on what she was there to talk about.

I did think it was kind of interesting her saying about the inauguration being the "biggest crowd of her life" because I personally don't really put politicians on a pedestal like that, but I can definitely understand that it was a great honor for her to do that

I don’t think it was just about politicians, but rather America has a whole. She said before that she was singing to America, especially because America was so divided at that time and singing the national anthem at the inauguration is one of the biggest honors a singer can have

Interesting but strange interview, imo.

It's so jarring, as a long-time Gaga fan, to listen to her say (in a roundabout way) that her activism is more important (and has more 'meaning') to her than her music career.

I understand the point she was making - but it's still so contradictory to everything we know (or knew) about Gaga. She's always been an activist. That's why we love her. But her music was always part of her activism. Her music and art was how she healed people. Now it's through philanthropy and promoting Health and Safety window stickers.

Her music seems to to take a backseat when it comes to her core goals in life now, even though music is the most powerful healer of them all.

And, yes, I know this interview was for a very specific purpose - but it's not just this interview that I'm referring to; she's been in this frame of mind for over a year now, where she separates activism from art. It's like the 'Lady Gaga' brand is used to create cash (endless product deals) to fund what Stefani really wants to do.

Yeah I thought of that too, maybe that's what she meant. I think it's because she was talking about standing in between the two presidents that I took it the other way. I'll just think of it the way you're saying I like that better :selena:

I think it’s more like the historical scale of inaugurations. Think about it, a performance like that will be watched for years to come and was watched on tv by millions. It’s comparable to the super bowl, you know?

She might have meant globally too. Lots of people were watching live. It suited Europe time wise which doesn't usually happen with big American events. I think she meant the importance of the national anthem at this point in time, from the last POTUS to Biden. Its very clear she loathes Trump so I think it's just a big relief to her personally.
