Does anyone else find it weird that gaga scrapped TGT but kept SFA?

I remember back when the greatest thing leaked, they did an interview and cher explained how she loved the song but gaga wanted to scrap it cause they recorded their parts separately and to her it didn't seem like a real collab. At the time, I remember many lms saying that gaga is a true artist and would never release a collab if it didn't feel like one, she's above that etc etc etc. Fast forward to 2020, I find it strange that she did a 180 and released SFA when that was recorded separately and was like a 7 year old song too. And it wasn't even elton or gaga who thought of doing the song, it was some producer that brought the idea to gaga.

I love both songs and of course I know opinions can change, but I find it weird that she has change her stance/story on things so much over the years on just about everything. It's like as time goes on the more she speaks the more she contradicts herself. Remember during gaga radio when she said Sex dreams was going to be the lead but when she heard applause she knew that had to be the single? Like what? All we've ever heard was how she wanted aura to be the lead and applause wasn't even going to make the cut until Jimmy Iovine convinced her otherwise.

Anyways which do you think is better and why did gaga scrap TGT but keep SFA?

Opinions change, end of story. And maybe the process with Elton was different and felt more like a collaboration. And if I remember correctly, she didn’t like her vocals too

Same thing with Sour Candy!

Well, it's pretty obvious that Gaga's vision about her music career has changed over the years, she's not taking it as seriously as she used to anymore

TGT scrapped cos of artistic differences with Cher.

Cher said that herself on a tweet long ago.

That is the difference cos she can find win-win solutions for SFA with Elton.

I think she felt like she was too young and new into the industry to get Cher to duet with her. If she had to chance to record with someone like Cher, she would work hard and not use any random pre-existent song. While Elton and her are close friends and almost family for YEARS so she felt comfortable to do it even though he's a legend (and she's now an established and respected artist)

Well it was mostly artistic differences + gaga actually wanted to get into the booth and record stuff personally. Of course, that was back then, I don't think she cares about that aspect so much anymore, why? Well because she didn't touch the Chromatica in terms of producation, besides the interludes. So it's no wonder why a song from 2013 ( that i fully adore) made the cut. Her principles changed, just like her passion for pop music

Really? I remember it being specifically because gaga didn't feel like it was a proper collaboration cause they recorded it separately

Because shes the godmother of Elton’s child. Im sure she and Cher appreciate and respect each other but they aren’t that close

No. TGT is way too overrated and sounds like a 2009 RedOne reject. Its nothing new or interesting, especially not the heavily vocoded vocals. Sine From Above is in a whole other level.

she's had multiple collabs like that though and even made them singles so I don't think that would be the actual reason

i didn't really love tgt and i feel like gaga felt the same and just used the recording thing as an excuse

sfa wasn't really created by them but i think the reason they brought it back for chromatica was cause gaga was probably writing stuff and realized they could revive sfa

hard to even fathom which parts you should believe
