Has Biden put any restrictions in place, or does it all fall down to state by state? I don't quite understand how it works for you guys over there, as I see clubs open and drag brunches and stuff all over the states on insta and twitter and here in the UK there isn't any hospitality open anywhere.

It’s state by state unfortunately. He put a federal mask mandate in federal property and highway rest stops, as well as enacted the defense production act and policy/budgets changes on vaccine distribution but any major nationwide mandate would probably be met with a lot of challenge in the courts..

I think eventually it will be treated like the flu.

I’m not saying they’re the same. I’m just saying it will be a similar response, maybe a bit more severe.

Because we really can’t continue to live like this.

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

We will get through this.  By the end of summer enough people will be vaccinated to start the decline of covid.

I live outside the space time continuum.

I kind of lost hope too. It will probably take years until most people in my country are vaccinated and until I can do it. Our health minister said that we will have a vaccine stop for 10 weeks and I guess this won't be the first time we won't get enough, but he still promises that everyone can be vaccinated in late summer but I doubt that actually. Some virologists assume that it will take 10 years when we are this slow. Israel is the only country with hope right now.

The worst is if the vaccine won't help and people get infected a few weeks later or a new virus breaks out.

Nah look at Israel, who have the highest vaccination rate in the world right now

"A total of 371 out of 715,425 Israelis who passed at least a week after receiving two doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine have contracted the virus – 0.04%, with 16 being sent to the hospital – according to a Health Ministry report released on Thursday."

U.S. Hospitalizations are down for the 15th day in a row

The Pfizer vaccine is only slightly less effective against the South African variant.

Do you feel him sir?

We're just gonna have to cope with them the same way we have with the Flu for 100 years, now that we have a vaccine, even if it won't stop you from getting the new ones but it might keep you from dying

The vaccine is out there but cases are neverending, the variants are swooping in like nobody's business and claiming so many lives its unreal :bradley: The vaccines are circulating but what if it's not enough? Is it not coming in fast enough? There is a wait list a mile long for vaccine in my area, not everyone can get it until almost the end of the year at this rate, what are we going to do? :bradley:

The only thing everyone needs to do is be careful, cautious and find the patience to get through it. Eventually the whole “herd immunity “ will take into effect. It’s so so sad though that many vulnerable people (millions) are living fearing for their lives. It is like war time, we need to fight through this

I'm FINALLY starting to know people getting vaccinated. My partner's older mother did yesterday. Two family members did a week ago. These aren't doctors/nurses/etc. Just normal people over age 65. So it's coming for the rest of us. Bit by bit.

And, thankfully, none of the strains (even the scarier South African variant) seem to be resistant to the vaccine. Fingers crossed, life gets back to some semblance of normal by September.

Then we call all pop a few 911s and visit Alice...

Of course we will, there’s no need to get so pessimistic. These things always pass, it’s obviously not a quick process like all of us would like it to be, but it eventually passes. Viruses mutate all the time, this was to be expected. It’s a long hard road out of hell but things will slowly get better. They already have in various places of the world as a matter of fact.

i just got vaccinated and i feel a lot more positive about the future. before that, i was caught in a similar state of mind as you. trust me, it will get better and we will get out of this alive.

you will get the vaccine too eventually. this is not the end for any of us.

I heard of some kind of plasma treatment that lowers the need for ventilators, icu, etc even death apparently and by a lot

the only thing is that when Dr’s offer it they say it’s experimental so naturally people are turned off

call me crazy but I think it’s the silver lining in all of this m(s)adness
