RRR 3,996
The vaccine is out there but cases are neverending, the variants are swooping in like nobody's business and claiming so many lives its unreal The vaccines are circulating but what if it's not enough? Is it not coming in fast enough? There is a wait list a mile long for vaccine in my area, not everyone can get it until almost the end of the year at this rate, what are we going to do? Maria Brink 1,685
Canada seems to be getting better. But it seems like other countries don't have enough measures in place. I hope you can get your vaccine soon xo
Rj Barker 3,331
Itll get better, it may seem that it won't right now but it will, once the vulnerable groups have been vaccinated we can start to periodically go back to normal. Even with the variants there are options. The current vaccines still offer some protection. Upto about 60% efficacy, which is about the equivalent of the flu jab, which means it'll help hospital numbers. Also vaccines can be quickly altered for boosters if the virus changes alot. One way or another normality will resume as life cannot continue to be ground to a halt, its not viable in the long term. Try to keep faith. Come 2022 I would expect life to be just about normal again.
Caldy 79
I know the situation seems bleak right now, but I am confident that we will get out of this. Moderna has now announced a 3rd booster shot that they will implement in order to confer additional protection for the new COVID variants. The hardest job was to create the initial vaccine, which is over. Now if ever they wish to tweak the formula to target new variants, they can do so in a period of 6 weeks. Production of the vaccine is being upscaled in order to address the shortage of demand, which should resume in the coming weeks. And then you have places like Australia and NZ that are literally partying like it's 2019. So it just goes to show that with a collaborative effort and actually implementing strict lockdown measures that are not half-@$$ed, you can actually succeed! RAMROD 117,319
It moves slowly because vaccination process is slow. But it is not over yet for us. We will get through this. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ ᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵗᵒʷᵃʳᵈ ᵉⁿᵉᵐʸ (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡

PartySick 173,116
Echoing the sentiment here, we'll pull through. As time goes on covid will only become a better and better known threat. With that knowledge comes the ability to defeat it for good. Whimsical bitch

I don't quite understand how it works for you guys over there, as I see clubs open and drag brunches and stuff all over the states on insta and twitter and here in the UK there isn't any hospitality open anywhere. Chic 20,830
Watch a few black plague documentaries, you'll see how much worse humanity was impacted then and how they still got through it. And even the amazing things to come after the worst of it was gone.

Especially because parties are super spreader events Still not much It’s only been a couple of weeks since cases started declining and were still at ~200k/day with deaths still at record highs so we’re not really doing great, especially if the more infectious new strains start to take over. It’s like saying instead of it being really really bad, it’s just sorta really really bad.
