I mean, he realistically has about five songs:

Blinding Lights

Can't Feel My Face

Starboy

The Hills

Earned It

So 24 minutes...?

In the Night

I Feel it Coming

Heartless

In Your Eyes

Save Your Tears

24 is far too long... Like he's marginally better than a lot of male artists - but I just don't find his catalogue [the singles at least] do be diverse and robust enough to carry the 24 minutes without boring me. Even Blinding Lights got extremely old fast for me and I actually LOVED it when it leaked. Granted maybe my perception is tainted by how I view his ego and don't like how much he has changed lyrically and personally as he has grown more and more famous. I could put it aside if it wasn't for the fact it comes through in his song writing now too...

Same. I feel like 12 minutes was pretty adequate. I feel like going over 20 minutes is going have people wondering when it's over yet. :rip: It's not a knock to him, just the fact that it's a really long time for a slot like this and no one is really used to that.

Pepsi, which sponsors the halftime show, cut down on its commercials during the game to make room for a longer performance.

Hmm...isn’t that cheating in a sense though? I mean all other artists had to put together a show based on tighter time frames and that was part of the challenge

The fact Shakira and Jlo are legends and were forced not only to share the stage but also got like 7 minutes each. I know misogyny is still a thing but chile...

It doesnt mean its favouritism... things get adjusted all the time in marketing and business

Pepsi may have made changes for reasons were not even thinking of. Its still a marketing thing primarily. Their purpose of the show is not some favour to the artist and i doubt they are gonna make a change based on anyone they may like better

I know mysoginy is still a thing but its a reach to make this assumption without any proof or evidence that that was the reason for the change... there have been countless males in the past too that did not get 20 minites :deadbanana:

He's not even an icon or legend, now he gets a longer slot. Makes NO sense

He is extremely iconic and putting out art more legendary than his peers.

He's had three blockbuster albums. Six #1 hits. 17 top ten hits. And one of the most successful songs of all time.

I Feel it Coming was a Daft Punk collaboration that I’m sure he’ll perform. Heartless was the #1 lead single from After Hours. Blinding Lights was released only a week later and overshadowed it. In Your Eyes did pretty decent, but Blinding Lights was still dominating. Save Your Tears is his current single that has been growing

Not only that, but also a diamond certified single (The Hills) and 3 more that will likely go diamond by the end of the year (Blinding Lights, Starboy, Can't Feel My Face).:sis:

This man is on the cusp of having 4 DIAMOND CERTIFIED SINGLES.:firega:

He also just beat Justin Bieber as the artist with the most monthly listeners on Spotify.

I 100% agree.

But we dont have legends and icons of our generation. They're either dead, or retired
