Why didn’t the family stop him from going outside in the first place?? Who told the cop to come inside? Very tragic and avoidable. Family shares some responsibility.

Why the guy did not listen and obeyed?? What you think he was going to do, hug the cop? What if he got closed and fought the cop and grabbed his gun and killed the officer. All this could had been avoided. Nothing to do with color of skin, but everything to do with listening. Just my thought

That seems like a pretty important detail, he was tased twice and still came at the officer..

U r absolutely ****ing deranged. It’s not because they sent the wrong person... there is not the OPPORTUNITY to send the right person. There is only the police. And they are all, every single one of them, deeply disturbed and racist men. And whoever in your life is a cop and made u feel like coming on this website and making a fool of urself, they will disappoint you as well.

That's not true

It literally says in the article that a mental health deputy performed a wellness check the day before this incident with no issues. They transported him to the hospital and he opted to go back home rather than be admitted. Then the next day when his family called for a wellness check, they sent a regular cop for some reason. That's where the failure is. Someone who's knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with mentally unstable people could have deescalated it...but they didn't send someone like that.

Maybe read the article first before jumping all over someone.

Sis, you clearly didn't read the article. Come back after you're caught up.

I really can't believe this situation. Please, don't start 2021 in such a bad way.

The cop should be arrested. I'm sorry but this state of terror isn't a home for many. That's bad. Horrible.

BLACK LIVES MATTER.

 "the officer isn't to blame"

There needs to me more protests immediately because apparently we still don't all agree that black lives matter.

ENOUGH.

Take a quick look at American cops' track record with black people and then see if ACAB is that stupid.

Shooting someone should be the last option as a cop normally in a normal decent world. For example, to me just thinking about it and not doing research, using your gun if a terrorist is out and about. Using your gun if a man has a gun and is pointing it at you and/or your colleagues. Using your gun if someone refuses to put their arms up when you asked to (without pulling the trigger so again you dont shoot, you pull out the gun).

You don't shoot because after tasering someone twice the person comes at you and has no arms and guns, you are a cop, you pull out your handcuffs and control the situation
