Wow, that's great for those in need.

I got into an argument with a co-worker who was upset we don't qualify for stimulus assistance. The point of the money is to go to people and families who desperately need it, not so you can have extra money to play with.

Why would you feel jealous? People with kids have way more expenses, I don’t envy them (pertaining to this) at all. During this time I’m actually grateful I don’t have kids yet because it would be an even bigger struggle financially.

Here in Russia back in spring we got a one-time stimulus of 138 USD total only for families with either 3> kids or those with the elderly aged 70>

You should consider the fact that at that time there wasn't a raging pandemic and schools weren't closed down so parents didn't have to figure out other arrangements. Also, childcare likely wasn't as hard to get or as expensive at that time.

It's a lot harder to find childcare now given all the waitlists even prior to COVID, which has exacerbated that since it's now limited further how many children a childcare facility can look after.

I understand the envy but it's not like that money is for them when they have bills and responsibilities to cover which you don't, and that doesn't mean the parents don't absolutely need relief. I'm sure this will be very helpful for them to at least hire a babysitter or even a tutor to help their children still be able to learn..
