They aren‘t dumb, they know for sure he would split the votes between em and basically give the dems the power of the US for like, forever? So what if that is his plan to „force“ republicans to let him run again with em? If Trump creates third party, the GOP voters split between GOP and Trump, however, GOP can gain voters that are rightists, but no into Trump. Whenever politicians don't have it exactly their way in their current party, they split from it and either join another one or create a new one.
