The only left/progressive person with enough of a following to split the Democratic party up is Bernie Sanders and he's not dumb enough to do that :laughga:

Of course, he actually stands for something unlike Trump who would tear the right in pieces just because his little ego got bruised :nails:

Also, Bernie, Barbara Lee, etc. are smart enough to realize IF Trump goes through with his threat the progressive wing can get a lot, lot stronger in the Dem party due to the GOP being split.

I‘m scared that this is much more his technique to run for the republicans again in 2024.

They aren‘t dumb, they know for sure he would split the votes between em and basically give the dems the power of the US for like, forever?

So what if that is his plan to „force“ republicans to let him run again with em? :bear:

Anyways hope he does it :billie:

If this happens I can see the left splitting up :laughga: for some reason the left usually always self-destruct just to the point where they have slightly less power than the right

I hope he does. That way him and the Republican Party lose all power. The Republican Party will essentially be cut in half, from the looks of it. Simple math is all we need to determine that won't get either of them anything.

He won before, he could win again.

I don't know much about political system in US, but this is classic strategy in Europe with system of many parties. If Trump creates third party, the GOP voters split between GOP and Trump, however, GOP can gain voters that are rightists, but no into Trump. Then they can create coalitions against democrats and have more power with these two voter bases.

I'm not having fun tonight.

Is that even possible in US politics though? I know it is here in the UK...it's happened a few times

He won't be allowed to run again after the senate impeachment votes, under any party

He'll be barred from federal office next week, he'll never hold office again.

Wouldn't this just split the conservative vote? Tbh, there are quite a few Republicans that detest Trump or voted for him simply because they hate Dems enough/it was their "only" option. I doubt a party could survive solely off of his hardcore base, or at least be viable for the presidency. Moderates and swing voters would more than likely stay with the GOP so what does this achieve?

Trump doesn't care about splitting the vote, he just wants to siphon more campaign funds lmaoo

Where I'm from this is kind of thing is quite normal. Whenever politicians don't have it exactly their way in their current party, they split from it and either join another one or create a new one.

Well I obviously meant the case if the impeachment doesn’t go through :huntyga:

The vote to barr him from holding office only requires a simple majority, so it's definitely going through :)

If he made another party Dems would not be more powerful, people vote for them just because they are less of the evil; when GOP breaks, duopoly breaks; we could see rising parties like Libertarian and Green. That will not happen tho :/
