I dont think its suppostu seperate it the way ppl think in their minds when they hear seperate.

Were actually talking maybe a few feet at the most. Where ground expands may even remain land.

As I recall from Robin Williams’ comedy special, he said the experts say the “big one” could come tomorrow or 3,000 years from now  

I’d still live in CA in a heartbeat if I could. Not romanticizing it as I’ve seen some of its flaws, too.

I went twice in California (San Francisco & LA) and each time I was so scared 

I used to live near a nuclear reactor and I was told as a kid (idk how accurate this was) that if it was blown up I would be killed instantly. 

It never phased me, I was just like 'oh okay then'

Born and raised in Southern California. Los Angeles is the best place to be for the big one. We're mostly retrofitted. SF, depending on where you live in the city might be a bit scarier (I think most of the Sunset District is basically land fill.)

That said, we're all so prepared for what do and how to do it. That gives me a sense of calm over an otherwise stressful situation. I feel places like Vancouver/Seattle (the VERY dangerous Cascade Fault) and Manhattan (the much less dangerous 125th St Fault) are at a bigger risk for great damage simply due to lack of preparedness.

The fear is so overblown tbh

There will be damage, injured people, death, but it won't be as massive as those Hollywood movies are trying to show. Especially ones that shows mega tsunami, there won't be tsunamis cos the quakes are happening on land, not under the sea.
