The estimated death toll for this fault finally snapping is between 1,000 and 3,000 with around 50,000 injuries, mainly due to city wide destruction and the fact that it intersects like 40 gas and oil lines which would start fires and cause explosions. It'd create $200 billion to $500 billion worth in damages though the economy would be hit very hard. Besides, an earthquake in southwest California (running along its lower coast) couldn't trigger a volcano over a thousand miles away in northwest Wyoming at worst, aftershocks will be able to be felt in surrounding states by nothing strong enough to make a super volcano explode.
