Why do you think your tastebuds matter more than whether or not sentient beings deserve life? I just don’t understand the selfishness.

I am not going to eat stuff that I can’t keep down. I already have problems with my eating and without medication I cannot keep my food. I am not going add to my problems eating and drinking stuff that I don’t like.

Do you not eat any vegetables, fruit or legumes?

Fruits and veggies are plant based. I understand you might not be able to eat vegan now, but being closed off to the idea completely is close minded. Vegan food in 10 years will be a totally different experience anyway.

This thread is wild

Personally, I don’t know a single thing about vegan diets for dogs, so I won’t be expressing any of my own answers.

But reading the thread is fun

Don’t you think it’s rude to rummage through another person’s plate, picking apart their food choices, judging & telling them to “eat that, not this” when not asked to? :bear:

Then they complain about being 'selfish' :billie:

I think I've said enough now. Its nothing more than contradictory statements from people, and I've literally said everything I needed to. The best thing you could do for your dog is leave it be on its natural diet, which is predominantly meat based.

Well I have heard that teacup poodles can live on a vegan diet, but since they can be allergic to a lot of things, it can be a bit problematic. BUT we don't know the dog or his/her health history so we cannot judge.

It is common knowledge that dogs eat meat as it goes back to instincts, but there are some dogs that can't digest it or are allergic to it. There are different proteins that they could try that isn't something heavy like beef. However, if a dog does go vegan, the owner has to really watch and see if they don't have any deficiencies that meat would provide.

For me, do what's best for your dog but I never agreed with forcing ideals on your animals. Not my dog, not me the owner, not my business.

I admit the comparison might be out of place but the dogs allergic to meat are akin to humans with albinism/that are allergic to water/sunlight and other incredibly rare (>1% (AN EXAGGARATED NUMBER) mutations. Thus, exceptions don’t make the rule. :billie:

"do not force it on your pets"

like y'all don't forcibly restrain your pets, keep them from living freely, keep them from ever breeding should they want to via castration and often force them to do a whole lot of things they don't want to? the entire concept of pets revolves around forcing, this is just as bad as anything.
